Six Questions for a Tampa Bay Quote
Impact window quotes are hard to compare because the differences are in the documentation, not the price.
Your address and a list of openings. We will tell you what each one actually has to resist before anybody quotes a product.
The six
Ask every contractor, including us.
- What is the design pressure for each opening, in writing?
- Which product approval covers each unit, and is it valid here?
- Does the approval cover the actual size and configuration used?
- What substrate does the anchoring assume, and have you verified it?
- What documentation will the building department receive?
- Is the garage door included, and is it a rated system with bracing?
The one that separates quotes
Design pressure per opening, in writing. A contractor who can produce that list has calculated the job. One who quotes a single figure for the whole house has not.
That single difference tells you more than the price does, because a quote based on a general assumption may be under-rated on exactly the openings that matter.
And one to be skeptical of
"Miami-Dade approved" quoted at a Tampa Bay address. It is a real approval under a regime that does not apply here, it is used as a marketing shorthand, and it does not answer the question your building department will ask.
