The approval regime here is different
The High Velocity Hurricane Zone covers Miami-Dade and Broward. Tampa Bay works under statewide Florida Product Approval, and a product carrying that approval and meeting your calculated design pressures is fully compliant.
"Miami-Dade approved" is used across Florida as a marketing shorthand for quality. At a Tampa Bay address it cites a regime that does not apply, and a homeowner paying that premium is paying for a requirement they do not have.
Design pressure comes from your opening
The pressure each opening must resist is calculated from location, exposure, building height, and the size and position of that specific opening. Corner zones need higher ratings than the middle of a wall.
A quote giving one figure for a whole house has not calculated anything, and it may be under-rated on exactly the openings most likely to fail.
We are not local, and we say so
We are Fort Lauderdale based and we travel. That means scheduled work in planned blocks rather than same-day response, and thorough surveys because return visits are costly.
For a single window or an urgent small repair, a local Tampa Bay contractor will serve you better. We are worth talking to on a whole-house project where the survey, the specification and the scheduling are the difficult part.
